Slasher Openings (Ident Research and Titles)

One of the basis of title sequences for a slasher film are that they can signify that it is a Horror genre. This can be done in many ways for example a intense audio connotes that it is a scary or creepy horror film.

    idents DON'T have to signify the genre at all
    BUT sometimes they are tweaked to do so, the most famous case being WBros for The Matrix
    all the Wikipedia copy/pasting is pointless
    the final paragraph has NOTHING to do with idents all
