Here you will also find my colleagues work as well as i worked with several others over the past six months. The film which inspired our film opening is Madhouse (2004, William Butler).

I have analysed the sound track and music on this film opening. I have done this because the film is slasher/stalker genre which also relates to our film we have produced. We haven't yet created our soundtrack for the film, therefor i have researched and analysed this film to help us. Here is the trailer for the film, this will give you a rough idea of the film. It is a hybrid film which includes romance, horror and comedy. The use of diagetic and non diagetic sound really exaggerates the film to the audience to enforce a scene or action which is on screen. The music is used to create tension and effect for a build up of a death

The begining of the film starts with diagetic sound of the nature outside, then goes straight to the sound of a phone ringing. There is no non diagetic sound at the beginning until 1:07 which is a high pitch violin sound which is ringing a screaming to the audience. This builds tension to the audience as it is a uneasy sound all of a sudden and signifies something is not right. Then we get quick sharp notes of a violin again.
